About Me
I’m Diana Mongare — the eldest of five, raised in a home where hard work, hustle, and humility were non-negotiable. My father taught trades at a vocational college, helping young people turn their skills into jobs. My mother started as a primary school teacher, then taught herself how to run a business — winning government contracts to build roads and schools in our community. They taught me how to lead, adapt, and dream big, even when the odds weren’t in our favor.
At 17, I left Kenya for the first time on a scholarship to study in the U.S. That life-changing opportunity lit a fire in me: to build, to grow, and to one day give others the same shot. I went on to graduate from the University of Pennsylvania and completed my MBA at Harvard Business School.
Since then, I’ve worked at the world’s top consulting and investment firms such as McKinsey and Blackrock Decarbonization Partners, launched multiple small businesses in waste management and event services in the US and Africa, and led teams through both success and struggle. I’ve learned firsthand what it takes to scale — and why the people behind every company matter most.
Dumu Holdings is my next chapter: a way to carry forward a founder’s legacy with the same heart and hustle that got me here.
About Dumu Holdings
Built to last. Rooted in respect.
Dumu means “to endure” in Swahili — and that’s exactly what we aim to do: preserve and grow the legacy of one great business. At Dumu Holdings, we acquire companies that provide essential services and have stood the test of time.
We bring a fresh set of hands — not to overhaul what works, but to build on it. With long-term ownership, operational commitment, and deep respect for founders and their teams, we aim to scale what’s already great.
If you’ve spent years building something meaningful and are looking for someone who will care for it like you do, I’d love to connect.
